FROM DISCOVERY TO INNOVATION. WHERE INFLAMMATION RESOLUTION IS BORN
Research on PMS dates back to the late 20th century, when Dr. Charles N. Serhan first discovered that the resolution of inflammation is not a passive process, but actively mediated by lipid-derived bioactive molecules. This observation revolutionized modern immunology and gave rise to a new paradigm in inflammation management.
Dr. Serhan's team successfully isolated, structured, and synthesized several subfamilies of SPMs, and experimentally demonstrated that these molecules not only suppress inflammation and pain, but also reprogram the immune response to facilitate tissue repair. This line of research was subsequently expanded by other renowned scientists such as Dr. Bruce Levy, Dr. Jessmond Dalli, Dr. Jan Schwab, and Dr. Dipak Panigrahy, among others, whose contributions continue to expand our understanding of the effects of SPMs on various health conditions, such as pulmonary, neurological, and oncological diseases.
